Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race, April
80 co-ed teams of three hike, mountain bike, run and kayak in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The race begins at a secret location in the Chattahoochee National Forest and ends in Downtown Blue Ridge City Park, with live music, food and the finish line. Georgia Mountain Classic Car Show, located in Downtown Blue Ridge, May 10th. See more than 200 classic cars. Registration begins at 9:00am, judging at 1:00pm and awards ceremony at 4:30. Wildflower Festival of the Arts, located in the downtown area of Dahlonega, May 17-18. This is the nineteenth annual wildflower festival on the square. Thirty Second Annual Arts in the Park Festival, Downtown Blue Ridge, May 24-25. This event is sponsored by the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association. 10:00am – 5:00pm, Memorial Day Weekend. Georgia Wine Country Festival. Located at The Three Sisters Vineyard in Dahlonega, June 7-8. This is the fifth annual, two day event that celebrates the many resources of Georgia Wine Country. Enjoy wine tastings from several Georgia wineries, live music, gourmet food, folk art, farm exhibits, live demonstrations, and much more. Casual jam sessions for acoustic musicians are held under the trees and pavillions along the Toccoa River at Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend Park every Thursday evening from 6 p.m. til dusk beginning May 26 through the end of September. Miners homecoming takes place in Ducktown, TN. every July 4th weekend. Old fashioned Independence Day fireworks are shot from Tater Hill in downtown McCaysville-Copperhill on July 4th at dark-thirty. Fourth of July Kiwanis parade and festivities take place on July 5th, also in McCaysville-Copperhill.
