August Events 2025

Summer may be coming to a close but that doesn’t mean the events have to stop! This month is jam packed with rodeos, fairs, music festivals, and more. Soak up the last few weeks of summer at some of these great events!


Second Annual Ridge Jam

August 1st-August 2nd

Location: Blue Ridge Farmers Market 

This two day music festival in Downtown Blue Ridge is bringing you exciting live entertainment from some of the best musicians in the business! On top of great music there will also be food trucks, craft vendors, band merch, and much more! Plus the event benefits St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Bring a chair and come on out Friday and Saturday starting at 10am for all the fun!


Live Music at Misty Mountain Hops

August 1st-August 22nd 

Location: Misty Mountain Hops

Misty Mountain Hops is a music-centric restaurant and pub so it’s only fitting that they bring in live music. Stop by select Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm-9pm for great food and great live music from local artists!

Small Expression: Fiber Art Exhibition 

August 1st-August 23rd 

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association

The Handweavers Guild of America invites you to explore contemporary fiber art on an intimate scale in this juried exhibition. Come to the Art Center now through August 23rd to admire The Handweavers Guild of America’s works. 


3rd Quarter Artist in Residence: Bill Jefferson Wonders in Wood Artistry

Come on out to the Art Center to admire Bill Jefferson's beautiful, handcrafted wood art works on display in the gallery through August 23rd.


Live Music at the Mill at Noontootla Creek Farms

Yoga by the River

August 2nd 

Location: Old Toccoa Farm

Take a relaxing Yoga class by the river at Old Toccoa Farm! The class will take place in a flat grassy area tucked off of the golf course with amazing views of the green and the Toccoa River. Bring your yoga mat, water, and anything else you might need and enjoy!


Twin Cities Farmers Market 

August 2nd 

Location: Downtown McCaysville


Come join us at the Twin Cities Farmers Market in Downtown McCaysville every other Saturday thru October! There will be fresh produce, handmade goods, local crafts, and more. Come get some shopping done and support the local community!


The Fine Columbians: A Steely Dan Tribute Band

August 2nd

Location: Blue Ridge Community Theater

The Fine Columbians: A Steely Dan Tribute Band are coming to Blue Ridge! Performing multiple sold out shows all over the southeast, they have acquired a deserved reputation for being THE ultimate tribute band featuring top-notch musicianship and spot-on recreations of Steely Dan classics. Don’t miss this night of music at Blue Ridge Community Theater for their Live Music is Better series! The Fine Columbians will take the stage at 7:30pm on August 2nd and tickets are $48.80 for this awesome show!


Winery Tour

August 2nd-August 30th 

Location: Crane Creek Vineyards

Learn all about the wine making process with this behind-the-scenes experience! Take a tour of the beautiful Crane Creek Vineyards and experience what goes into making a bottle of Crane Creek wine! You can take a Winery Tour on Saturdays at 2pm, April-November. The cost is $40 per person.

Roo Mountain Vineyards always has so much to offer! Have you ever wanted to learn how to line dance? Well now’s your chance! Tooney’s now offers free, weekly line dancing classes Monday nights! The class is open to people of all ages and dance experience! Doors open at 6pm and classes start at 7pm. Come on down and show us what you can do!


Proof

August 7th-August 24th 

Location: Blue Ridge Community Theater 

Proof follows the story of Catherine, the daughter of a famous but unstable mathematician. After his untimely death, Catherine finds a mysterious notebook left behind from her father that forces her to face the ultimate question of how much of her father’s madness or genius will she inherit? Shows are Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. The show runs August 7th-August 24th.  Please call the box office at 706-632-9191 for tickets.


Pickin’ In The Park

August 7th-August 28th 

Location: Horseshoe Bend Park


Every Thursday night at 6:00pm, May-September visit Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville, GA for live music and picnicking by the Toccoa River. Picnic tables are available but feel free to bring a picnic blanket and lawn chair as well. Admission is free so bring the whole family to enjoy!


Karaoke Nights

Location: Tooney’s Music Venue

Hops Vines & Dines: An Evening to Support the Arts

August 16th

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association

Come on out for a night of entertainment that's all about supporting the arts at the "Hops, Vines & Dines" fundraising event! There will be delicious food, locally brewed beverages, a silent auction, and a chance to connect with fellow art lovers. Tickets are $50 per person and $45 per person for BRMAA members.  


Meadowcroft Wine Dinner

Old Toccoa Farm will be hosting a Wine Dinner with wines from Meadowcroft Winery. This Napa Valley winery is celebrated for its dedication to small-lot, handcrafted wines that capture the essence of their terroir. Georgia Mountain Classics Cruise Ins

Appalachian Roots: Sippin', Singin' & Supper

Location: Byron Herbert Reece Farm

Acoustic Sunset Series

August 28th

Location: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds

Head to the beautiful Hamilton Gardens in Hiawassee GA Thursday nights for their Acoustic Sunsets Concert Series. The event takes place on select Thursday nights August 28th-October 9th from 5pm-9pm and will include food trucks, nighttime garden tours, and live music. Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and come on out for an evening of fun!


Hiawassee Pro Rodeo

August 29th-August 30th 

Location: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds

Celebrate the long weekend by watching bucking broncos & bulls at the annual Hiawassee Pro Rodeo! See some of the world’s best contestants from the U.S. and Canada as well as some amazing specialty acts! The whole family will love it! Tickets are $25 for adults and children 5 & under are free!


Grape Stomp Festival 

August 30th  

Location: Paradise Hills

Come on out to Paradise Hills in Blairsville for their 12th annual Grape Stomp Festival! Your $25 ticket includes admission and a souvenir wine glass. There will also be great live music, food trucks, craft vendors, and grape stomping at 2pm & 4pm! This stomping fun event will happen August 30th from 11am-5pm.


Bubbles and Boots Mimosa Festival

August 30th

Location: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds

Visit the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee GA for their first ever Bubbles & Boots- Mimosa Festival! Your ticket will get you a front row seat to live entertainment, unique vendors, and bottomless mimosas. It's a refreshing & fun way to end your summer!


Tattoo you: A Rolling Stones Tribute Band

August 30th

Location: Blue Ridge Community Theater

Tattoo You is a Rolling Stones Tribute Band based out of Atlanta. They have a passion for the music and a dedication to recreating the classic songs with the spirit and energy they demand. Don’t miss this night of music at Blue Ridge Community Theater for their Live Music is Better series! Tattoo You will take the stage at 7:30pm on August 30th and tickets are $48.80 for this awesome show!

Come on out to the Art Center August 30th thru October 18th to see beautiful digital media from local artists. Enjoy photography or videography? Submit your work and see if you can win Best in Show! Artists and art lovers alike are welcome!


Mountain Heritage Festival

August 30th- August 31st  

Location: Blairsville Town Square

Make your way over to Blairsville, GA for Labor Day weekend to celebrate the history and mountain culture of Blairsville and Union County. There will be crafts, music, living history activities, demonstrations on quilting, spinning, basket making,  farm animals, and gold panning, along with fun activities for children. The events will happen in Downtown Blairsville Square. Admission is free!
