Celebrate the end of summer in the North Georgia Mountains with craft markets, mountain fairs, rodeos, and more! Don’t miss these exciting events happening in North Georgia this August: 


Ridge Jam-Bluegrass Festival

August 1st

Location: Blue Ridge Farmers Market

Bluegrass is coming to Blue Ridge at the 3rd Annual Ridge Jam! This two-day festival will bring in award winning bluegrass bands, food trucks, vendors, camping, jamming and more! Plus, this great event serves as a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and last year raised thousands of dollars for the charity. All the fun runs July 31st & August 1st at the Blue Ridge Farmers Market. 


Community Makers Market

August 1st

Location: CATE Farms

There's nothing quite like a craft market! Stop on by CATE Farms in Morganton, GA for all kinds of local crafts, baked goods, artisan creations, face painting and so much more. And during the event the farm will be offering hayrides, a petting zoo, fresh picked produce, and other goodies. The fun runs the first Saturday of every month August-November from 10am-3pm. 


Mama Won't Fly 

August 1st-August 2nd 

Location: Blue Ridge Community Theater

Get ready for a night of laugh-out-loud Southern comedy about family, chaos, and the lengths we’ll go to for the ones we love. Mama Won't Fly follows a family on a cross-country adventure filled with quirky characters, outrageous mishaps, and heartfelt revelations. Shows are Thursdays – Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm.  The show runs July 16th-August 2nd.  Please call the box office at 706-632-9191 for tickets.  


Live Music at Paradise Hills

Location: Paradise Hills Winery 

Visit the winery at the beautiful Paradise Hills hidden in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The tasting room offers Paradise Hills wine, a selection of craft beers, hard cider, and wine slushies as well as cheese and charcuterie boards, tapas, and shared platters. You can enjoy your drinks and snacks as you listen to local artists perform select Fridays 4pm – 8pm & Saturdays from 1pm – 5pm.

Artist in Residence: Jimiyo Benedict

August 1st-August 30th

Location: Blue Ridge Arts Association

Join us in celebrating the beauty of art at the Art Center for sculpturer, Jimiyo Benedict. Jimi’s sculptures transform common packaging materials into stylized animal forms that sit between craft, design, and folk sculpture. Built through cutting, layering, and shaping corrugated cardboard and other paper-based materials, the work emphasizes rhythm, surface pattern, and the structural potential of an everyday medium. The opening reception will take place on June 6th at 5pm and Jimiyo's works will be on display through August 30th. 


The Shape of Clay Artisan Pottery Exhibition

August 1st-August 30th 

Location: Blue Ridge Arts Association

Come on out to the Art Center for "The Shape of Clay" which promotes the talent and design of two- and three-dimensional clay artists. These artists combine technical skill, imagination, and craftsmanship to produce works that range from decorative wall pieces and tiles to functional pottery and sculptural forms. The opening reception will take place on June 6th at 5pm and "The Shape of Clay" exhibit will be on display through August 30th.


Live Music at Bear Claw Vineyards & Winery

Location: Bear Claw Vineyards

For award winning wine, live music, and food truck Bear Claw Vineyards is the place for you! Join them every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for live music and food trucks. Goodspeed's art highlights the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge region, capturing the landscape with an artist’s eye and an architect’s attention to form, light, and atmosphere. His work has been exhibited in galleries, museums, and art festivals throughout the Southeast, earning recognition and awards along the way. David Goodspeed's Fine Art Photography exhibit will be on display from July 2nd-September 5th.

Pickin’ In The Park

Every Thursday night at 6:00pm, May-September visit Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville, GA for live music and picnicking by the Toccoa River. Picnic tables are available but feel free to bring a picnic blanket and lawn chair as well. Admission is free so bring the whole family to enjoy!

Hops Vines & Dines: An Evening to Support the Arts

Venture on over to Hiawassee, Georgia for some good old-fashioned fun at the 76th Annual Georgia Mountain Fair! There will be carnival rides, music performances, arts & craft booths, special attractions & experiences, delicious food, a parade, and so much more! Sip 'N Stitch

Location: Copper Fox Books


Head to Blue Ridge's local bookshop for a night of crafting and relaxation. Whether you knit, crochet, embroider, quilt, mend, bead, or dabble in something totally your own, this is a low-pressure space to create, chat, and unwind. 30th Annual Kiwani’s Rodeo

August 21st-August 22nd

Location: Kiwani’s Fairgrounds

Prepare to be entertained at the 30th Annual Kiwani’s Rodeo! There will be bronco riding, calf roping, calf scrambles, bareback riding, bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and so much more! There will also be a “Boot Toss” raffle and food vendors. You won’t want to miss this fun-filled event running from 6pm-11pm August 21st-August 22nd.


Snorkel-Palooza 2026

August 22nd

Location: Toccoa River Sandy Bottoms Recreation Area

Come on out for the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest's first ever Snorkel-Palooza! This wonderful event is to educate both kids & adults alike on our aquatic ecosystems and outdoor recreation in a fun and supportive environment. At the Toccoa River Sandy Bottoms Recreation Area from 10am-2pm there will be a snorkeling station set up as well as an aquatic habitat discovery station for viewing macroinvertebrates. The U.S. Forest Service will also be providing wetsuits, masks, snorkels, changing stations, and snorkeling instruction.


Warm the Ridge Fundraiser

August 22nd

Location: Copperhill Ball Field 

Come support a great cause and enjoy some time in the community at the Warm the Ridge Fundraiser! The event will feature live music by The Shannon York Band, community activities, raffles, games, food, drinks, and fundraising events throughout the day at the Copperhill Ball Field. Every pint, every raffle ticket, and every donation helps make a difference for neighbors across Fannin County, Georgia and Polk County, Tennessee during the coldest months of the year.


Acoustic Sunset Series

August 27th

Location: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds

Head to the beautiful Hamilton Gardens in Hiawassee GA Thursday nights for their Acoustic Sunsets Concert Series. The event takes place on select Thursday nights August 27th-October 8th from 5pm-9pm and will include food trucks, nighttime garden tours, and live music. Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and come on out for an evening of fun!


The Foreigner

August 27th-August 31st

Location: Blue Ridge Community Theater

Next up at Blue Ridge Community Theater is Larry Shue's The Foreigner. This wildly funny and clever comedy is all about misunderstanding, discovery, and the unexpected power of silence. Full of eccentric characters, sharp wit, and side-splitting situations, The Foreigner delivers nonstop laughter while also celebrating kindness, courage, and friendship. Vendor Day at the Community Market 

August 29th

Location: Waterside at Blue Ridge

Looking for amazing artisan goods and home-made goodies? Then come on down to Vendor Day at the Community Market at Waterside. The event is FREE to attend and includes a wide variety of vendors selling homemade bread, jams and other delicious baked goods, permanent jewelry, tie-dye, natural stone jewelry, tumblers, snow cones and much more!
