Summer is in full swing here in the mountains and there’s no shortage of fun to be had! Start your month off with patriotic festivals and events for the 4th of July, then brush off your running shoes for a 5K on the state line, an art festival in Blairsville, and a Laser Light Show at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds! Experience all that summer in the mountains has to offer! 


Wildlife Art Showcase “Wild Things”

July 1st-July 6th 

Location: The Art Center (Blue Ridge Mountains Art Association)

The Wildlife Art Showcase promotes the talent and artistic prowess of wildlife artists. The wildlife gallery will be on display from June 7th thru July 6th.


Art of the Automobile 

July 1st-July 7th 

Location: The Art Center (Blue Ridge Mountains Art Association

Join us in a celebration of the artistry of the automobile from paintbrush to pavement! The Art of the Automobile exhibit will be on display from June 7th to July 7th. 


Line Dancing Class

July 2nd-July 30th 

Location: Tooney’s Music Venue

Have you ever wanted to learn how to line dance? Well now’s your chance! Tooney’s now offers free, weekly line dancing classes Monday nights! The class is open to people of all ages and dance experience! Doors open at 6pm and classes start at 7pm. Come on down and show us what you can do!

4th of July Fundraiser

Celebrate 4th of July and support a good cause! What could be better? On July 4th, Paradise Hills will be hosting a 4th of July Fundraiser with great wine, views, and live music. They will also be accepting donations in support of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) Georgia Chapter - Rebuilding Shattered Lives of Survivors and Co-Workers Affected by Line-of-Duty Deaths. 


Blue Ridge Freedom 5K 

July 4th 

Location: Downtown Blue Ridge 

Be a part of the 4th of July celebration run! Start at Blue Ridge Sip & Play at 7:30am and make your way through town on this festive 5K.


Old Timer’s Parade

July 4th 

Location: Downtown Blue Ridge

The Old Timer’s Parade has been a Blue Ridge tradition since the 1950’s. So come downtown from 10am-11am in your best period attire, bring your antique cars and celebrate the 4th of July!


4th of July Lake Chatuge Boat Parade 

July 4th 

Location: Lake Chatuge; Starting Point - Sunset Bay Cove (Behind Young Harris Watersports)

Come out for the 4th of July Lake Chatuge Boat Parade in Hiawassee! Interested in participating? All boats line up in the Sunset Bay Cove for the parade beginning at 10:30am. The boats will parade past the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds where the judges will be positioned. Come on by and find a good spot to watch the patriotic boats go by!


Ellijay 4th of July Festivities 

July 4th 

Location: Downtown Ellijay 

All the fun kicks off in Downtown Ellijay at 2pm with local vendors and kids activities, and a 4th of July Parade at 7:30pm featuring decorated floats, community groups, and plenty of red, white, and blue. And following the parade there will be fireworks show that will light up the night sky!


Lake Blue Ridge Fireworks 

July 4th 

Location: Lake Blue Ridge Dam

Join us at Lake Blue Ridge for the annual fireworks show! The fireworks start at 9:30pm and last till about 10:00pm. The best places to view the show are from the Morganton Point Recreation Area, from a boat in Lake Blue Ridge near the Lake Blue Ridge Dam, from the Lake Blue Ridge Marina, or from the Lake Blue Ridge Dam. It’s sure to be a great and festive night!

Vogel State Park's 4th of July Celebration

July 4th 

Location: Vogel State Park

Start your 4th of July celebrations early with fun and games for the whole family! The day will start with a flag raising ceremony to honor our Veterans, then will be followed by a bike parade, sand castle contest, field games, a 4th of July concert and so much more. The fun goes from 8am-4pm at Vogel State Park!


Red, White, and Blairsville

July 4th 

Location: Meeks Park

Head over to Meeks Park in Blairsville for even more fireworks, shooting off from 9:30pm-10pm! But come early starting at 7:30pm for food trucks, bounce houses, kickball, cornhole, and more. Come on out for a fun night!

July 4th 

Location: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds

Head over to Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee for great music and fireworks! Starting at 3pm there will be family fun, food vendors and more! Then the Nathan Morgan Band will perform from 6pm-9pm and the firework show will start at 9:45pm. It’s a family-friendly event and there’s plenty of room for everyone!


The Annual Great American Rodeo

July 4th-July 5th 

Location: Copperhill, TN

Head over the state line for some rodeo fun! The Annual Great American Rodeo will be on the old baseball fields by the river in Copperhill, TN on July 4th & 5th. There will be exciting rodeo events, delicious food vendors, a bounce house, a kids calf scramble, and lots of family fun!


Live Music at Paradise Hills

July 4th-July 26th 

Location: Paradise Hills

Visit the winery at the beautiful Paradise Hills hidden in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The tasting room offers Paradise Hills wine, a selection of craft beers, hard cider, and wine slushies as well as cheese and charcuterie boards, tapas, and shared platters. You can enjoy your drinks and snacks as you listen to local artists perform select Fridays 4pm – 8pm & Saturdays from 1pm – 5pm.

For award winning wine, live music, and food truck Bear Claw Vineyards is the place for you! Join them every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for live music and food trucks. Kids and dogs are welcome too. The live music schedule for each weekend is shared on their website each Thursday so be sure to check back!

This beautiful winery located in Talking Rock, GA has both outdoor & indoor seating options, so you can enjoy the atmosphere of the winery no matter the weather. Copper Basin Fireworks

July 5th 

Location: Downtown McCaysville & Copperhill

Food, fun, and fireworks await you at the Copper Basin Fireworks show. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and the whole family to join in the fun! The fireworks start at promptly 9:30pm and go till around 10:30pm. You can see the fireworks from anywhere downtown. Come on out for a special night to celebrate America’s birthday!


Lake Nottely Boat Parade 

July 5th 

Location: Nottely Marina 

Head on over to the Lake Nottely Marina in Blairsville for their annual Independence Day Boat Parade. Have a boat? Join in the lineup starting at 10:30am. There’s no charge to enter your boat and you may decorate it however you’d like! Then at 11:30am the boats will pass by and all can enjoy in the beautiful parade!


Appalachian Roots: Sippin', Singin' & Supper

July 5th

Location: Downtown Blairsville

Get ready for a full weekend of fun and celebration in Blairsville! After all the festive celebrations on the 4th, Downtown Blairsville will come to life with music, food, and fun! Enjoy a FREE concert from Cody King and headliner KANSTYX: A tribute to the music of Kansas & Styx, a Low Country Broil from Jim’s Smokin’ Que, and moonshine generously provided by Grandaddy Mimm's! This great event will truly capture the Appalachian spirit!


Yoga by the River

July 5th

Location: Old Toccoa Farm

Take a relaxing Yoga class by the river at Old Toccoa Farm! The class will take place in a flat grassy area tucked off of the golf course with amazing views of the green and the Toccoa River. Bring your yoga mat, water, and anything else you might need and enjoy!


Brotherhood: A Doobie Brothers Tribute Band

July 5th

Location: Blue Ridge Community Theater 

Jam out to all your favorite Doobie Brothers hits this summer! Established in 2019, Brotherhood, is a vibrant seven-piece Doobie Brothers Tribute band who hail from Atlanta. They have one mission: to authentically recreate the electric atmosphere of a Doobie Brothers concert. Don’t miss this night of music at Blue Ridge Community Theater for their Live Music is Better series! Brotherhood will take the stage at 7:30pm on July 5th and tickets are $48.80 for this awesome show!


Pickin’ In The Park

Location: Horseshoe Bend Park


Every Thursday night at 6:00pm, May-September visit Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville, GA for live music and picnicking by the Toccoa River. Picnic tables are available but feel free to bring a picnic blanket and lawn chair as well. Admission is free so bring the whole family to enjoy!


Twin Cities Farmers Market

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime follows the story of 15-year-old Christopher who is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. Follow Christopher on  a surprising journey which explores the very meaning of trust, truth, and family. Shows are Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. Walk the Line 5K

Walk the Line 5K is America’s only 5K that crosses two states! Starting at 6:30pm you’ll run through the charming twin cities of Copperhill,TN and McCaysville, GA, pass by the Toccoa River, and cross the steel bridge! Before and after the run stay for food, drinks, and music at the Riverwalk Shops.


A1A - The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show

July 19th 

Location: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds

Do you love the music of Jimmy Buffett and the joys of summer? Then come on out for Georgia Mountain Fairground's Summer Fun-draiser and concert at 6pm on July 19th! On top of the amazing concert from, A1A - The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show, there will also be food trucks, drinks, a silent auction, and lots of fun! Proceeds will benefit The Paris Business Center Restoration in Downtown Hiawassee.


Butternut Creek Art Festival 

July 19th-July 20th

This two-day art festival is one of the finest in the Southeast! You’ll see craftsmen specializing in basketry, fine art, fabric art, decorative painting, photography, pottery, and so much more! The event runs Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm & admission is free!


Seafood Dinner: A Taste of New England

July 25th

Enjoy a delicious seafood dinner at Old Toccoa Farm! From freshly shucked oysters and lobster rolls, to a classic New England seafood boil, this event promises a delicious journey through timeless favorites.


Laser Light Show 

July 26th 

Location: The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds

Get ready for family friendly fun at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds! Starting at 5pm on July 26th there will be craft vendors, food trucks, live music, kids activities, and much more at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. Then at 9:45pm you’ll be treated to a one-of-a-kind laser light show! Tickets are $10 a person and children 12 & under are free!


Ramdall Bramblett

July 31st

Location: Blue Ridge Community Theater 

For a night of southern/American Roots music come on out for the Ramdall Bramblett concert! Bramblett is a highly accomplished musician, singer, songwriter and bandleader known for his genre-blending style and creative song imagery. Don’t miss this night of music at Blue Ridge Community Theater for their Live Music is Better series! Bramblett will take the stage at 7:30pm on July 31st and tickets are $37.10 for this awesome show!
