There’s nothing quite like spring in the mountains! And there’s so much in store for you this spring in Blue Ridge! From flower festivals & garden tours, to spring markets, the Blue Trout & Outdoor Adventures Festival, and live music across North Georgia; you’ll find no shortage of fun in these mountains! Line Dancing Class

Guided Hikes with the Benton McKaye Trail Association

Explore the beauty of North Georgia on a guided hiking tour with the Benton McKaye Trail Association. They offer 2-4 hikes a month varying in difficulty from easy, leisurely hikes to moderately difficult hikes.
April 3rd: Trails of Jack Rabbit.
April 5th: Quartz Loop and BMT to Thunder Rock.
April 7th: Upper Springer Mountain Loop.
April 10th: Tobacco Pouch Trail to Buice Falls to Fall Creek Falls and return on Fall Creek Trail.
April 12th: Flat Creek Loop. DOG-FRIENDLY HIKE.
April 14th: BMT Hwy 60 to Suspension Bridge and return.
April 17th: Brasstown Bald in and out 4-mile moderate hike on the Wagon Train Trail.
April 19th: BMT-Hudson Gap, out and back. DOG-FRIENDLY HIKE.

Get ready to laugh away at Blue Ridge Community Theater’s hilarious show Barefoot in the Park! Newlyweds Paul and Corie have just returned from their honeymoon their small and dreary New York City apartment when Paul’s kooky mother arrives. They try to set her up with their crazy upstairs neighbor and trouble ensues. Follow along on their crazy adventure and see what’s in store for this newly wed couple. Shows are Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. The show runs April 11th-April 28th. Please call the box office at 706-632-9191 for tickets.

The Rhododendron Festival

Head over to Hiawassee for a month filled with spring fun at The Rhododendron Festival at their beautiful Hamilton Gardens. Not only will you have the chance to tour the lovely gardens at full bloom but you will also have the chance to enjoy live music, delicious food, art demonstrations, a plant sale, daily seminars, and much more! Admission to the gardens is $6 and the event takes place daily from April 12th-May 12th.

Georgia Mountain Storytelling Festival

Come on out to the Ridges Resort in Hiawassee and discover the art of storytelling! This two day festival will feature lots of storytelling, workshops, quilt making, and much more! Tickets are $20 for one day or $35 for two.

Spring in the Mountains Marketplace

Chimps Rock
April 13th-April 14th

Come see the chimps and take a guided tour of the Project Chimps sanctuary. Kids can also paint rocks with sweet messages for the chimps. For $10 children will receive an 45-60 minute guided tour, a rock to paint, a chance to see chimps close up at one of the viewing windows, and one adult ticket included.

Blazin’ 5K and Kid’s Fun Run

Raise money to support the Young Harris College track program with a 5k race through campus. The course begins near Mayor’s Park and then will weave through the Young Harris College grounds onto it’s cross country trails to end at Sharp Memorial Church. Have any little runners in your life? Then sign them up for the Blazin’ 5K and Kid’s Fun Run! Kids run free!

Memory Lane Classic Car Show

Trout Trot 5K
April 27th

Run 3.1 miles through 2 states! The 5K takes place in the beautiful twin cities of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN. Food, drinks, and music will be ready for your enjoyment before and after the race. Come on out and get ready to RACE!

Blue Ridge Trout and Outdoor Adventures Festival

The Blue Ridge Trout and Outdoor Adventures Festival is back for the 7th year in a row and bigger than ever! Learn all about fly fishing from dozens of local guides. There will even be outdoor activities to try out like a climbing wall, a mountain bike course, axe throwing, gem mining, and NEW for this year a tagged fishing tournament! After your adventures shop for beautiful outdoor art made by local artists and have some food & drink in the beer garden. You won’t want to miss out on all the fun!

Southern Rock legends 38 Special are coming to the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds on April 27th at 7pm! You know them from their hits like “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You,” and “Fantasy Girl”. Don’t miss out on this awesome concert and come early to enjoy the Memory Lane Classic Car Show! Tickets will be $47 + handling.

Winery Comedy Night
