The Ultimate Guide To Blue Ridge Cabin Hot Tubs

Sometimes you plan an Escape to Blue Ridge six months ahead of time and just dream of what it will feel like when you unlock that cabin door and walk in for the first time. You’ve been day dreaming (and maybe even night dreaming!) about exploring the beautiful town of Blue Ridge. Shopping, eating, hiking and enjoying all the quaintness that makes up this town. Back at the cabin you can’t wait to cozy up on the couches, light a fire-indoors or out, and of course relax in the hot tub before turning in for the evening in comfortable bedrooms.

With over 330+ cabins to choose from you can be particular about which one you select based on your taste and style. You can select pet friendly cabins or by the quantity of bedrooms. You can pick cabins with game rooms or with gourmet kitchens. You can book cabins with glorious views or that are privately situated. You can reserve cabins by the lake or by rivers. You can even base your decision on the style of hot tub you will get to enjoy!   We’ve created a roundup of twenty cabins with nine different hot tub styles!

Temperatures are mild, the forests are lush with greenery and flowers, and the water may be a little chilly but it can be a refreshing way to cool off after a long day of hiking. From trails just a little over a mile to challenging, multi-mile hikes there’s the perfect route for everyone.

And what do you hope to see on your journey? Peaceful babbling brooks, a tall rushing waterfall, a unique swinging bridge that dangles over the waters of the Toccoa River, or views as far as the eye can see? Blue Ridge has miles and miles of trails with everything and more to offer! So bring along your friends, family, and your favorite pup too, and get ready to explore the great outdoors! Ride the Rails

Photo Courtesy of the Blue Ridge Mountain Scenic Railway

Spring means that train rides are back at Blue Ridge Scenic Railway! Running from March 5th to late December the train is a favorite Blue Ridge activity. You’ll fly past mountains, rivers, and farmlands as you ride through the beautiful countryside of North Georgia. For a short and sweet adventure, take the 2-hour scenic ride but if you are looking to make the trip an all-day event why not go for the 4-hour ride? On the longer ride you’ll have a 2-hour layover in the charming sister cities McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN. Stand in two states at once on the Georgia/Tennessee border that lies between the two cities. Go for a quick shopping spree or grab a bite to eat. Then hop back on the train for another scenic journey back to Blue Ridge. Tickets are available online: https://brscenic.com/tickets/

Family-Friendly Outdoor Fun

The kids are off of school for spring break and there’s no better way to celebrate than with some family fun in the great outdoors! One of our favorite spots for family-friendly activities is at The Lily Pad Village. One of their biggest attractions is their gem mining experience. The kiddos will love sifting through the dirt to find their own beautiful gemstones. The staff is friendly and are always ready to explain to the little ones what they’ve discovered. Not only is this experience educational but it’s also fun & rewarding because the kids can leave with a bag full of goodies.

On top of gem mining, Lily Pad Village also has fishing and mini-golf, so the fun times can last all day long! Another great outdoor activity the whole family will enjoy is horseback riding! You can go on a relaxing trail ride through the forests of North Georgia and become best friends with your horse along the way. Cowgirl Up Stables is great for new riders and Appalachian Trail Rides is always a wonderful choice as well. Giddy on up and bring the whole family along to explore Georgia on horseback!

Spring at the Orchards

Mercier Orchards may be known for their apples but there’s more to them than that! The orchards are incredibly beautiful during the spring because the peach and apple blossoms are in full bloom! On weekends, you can take a farm tour to learn more about Merciers and see the blossoms up close, it really is quite a sight. Pay them a visit in May for strawberry season! Trout Time

In Blue Ridge, we are known as the trout capital of Georgia so you’d be remiss not to head to the waters with a fishing pole in hand! Not only is the weather perfect for a day on the water but the trout supply is abundant in the spring. Our favorite spots to fish are on the Toccoa River or at the Chattahoochee National Fish Hatchery.

If you’re an experienced fisher then, by all means, get out on the water and do your thing but if you need a little extra assistance that’s no problem we’ve got you covered! A few of our favorite fish-loving teams are Cohutta Fishing Company, Blue Ridge Fly Fishing School, and Noontootla Creek Farms. Take your pick but all of these teams will give you the proper guidance and techniques to help you become a fishing expert! Looking for more fishing fun? Don’t miss the Blue Ridge Trout Festival on April 30th!

Outdoor Picnics

Nothing says spring like a delicious picnic with your family! We think one of the most beautiful spots for a picnic is at Morganton Point beside Lake Blue Ridge. Set up at one of the picnic tables or spread your blanket out on the grass and enjoy your feast as you gaze out on the waters of Lake Blue Ridge.

For more waterside spots check out the Toccoa River Park to listen to the calming sounds of the river rushing by. You can even picnic in our Downtown City Park, just pick up some to-go from one of your favorite restaurants downtown and enjoy it in the warm sunshine. Wherever you choose to picnic you’ll be in the great outdoors and able to enjoy the beautiful spring weather!

We’ve comprised a list of our 7 favorite cabin kitchens perfect for creating and serving up a delicious meal!

Boardtown Farms

A wonderfully inviting place in Blue Ridge, welcome to Boardtown Farms. This true vintage farmhouse has been lovingly updated & remodeled and is ideally situated on a 5-acre pasture. Take in the fantastic views! This house is truly unique up and down. The stairs to the second floor are made of refurbished wood from a 100-year-old church in Ellijay. You’ll love the antique cast iron functioning pot belly stove on the main floor. The home itself is professionally decorated in a modern farm motif, complete with beautiful art and farm doors throughout. In addition, the house is outfitted with custom shades that allow natural light through its oversized windows, allowing a clear view of the pasture. You won’t find any place else like here in Blue Ridge.

Totally comfortable and cozy, you’ll love the living spaces inside Boardtown Farms. The living room has a great designer L-shaped couch and a pot-belly stove. The heart of the house, however, is the professional kitchen. Boasting brand new cabinets, a beautiful custom walk-in pantry, top-of-the-line quartz counters, and so much more, it’s a dream. The chef’s kitchen also has a professional-grade gas stove with a built-in water faucet that instantly produces hot and cold water.

July: Hit the Lake

Beat the summer heat and take to the waters of Lake Blue Ridge! Whether you’re cruising on a boat, splashing in the water, or sunbathing on the sands of Morganton Point; Lake Blue Ridge is the place to be for the summer! Lake Blue Ridge Marina is a great starting point to prep for your lake day adventures. They have boat rentals and all the supplies you need to get out on the water. And after a long day on the lake be sure to drop by the marina again at The Boat Dock Bar & Grill for great food, drinks, live music, and a beautiful view of Lake Blue Ridge. See fireworks light up the night sky and reflect off the lake for the annual “Fire in the Sky” fireworks display. The fireworks are shot off over the Lake Blue Ridge dam and can be viewed by boat or along the shore. It’s become many visitors and locals alike favorite annual tradition!

Best North Georgia Waterfalls

Escape to Blue Ridge and you’ll soon discover nature’s beauty all around you. One of the top must-see sights, when you come to town, is North Georgia’s stunning waterfalls! Some of the falls are easy to get to and others require a longer trek, but no matter which falls you choose to explore you’ll be blown away by their breathtaking beauty!

There are so many great waterfalls within Blue Ridge and the surrounding areas it’ll be hard to visit them all in one trip, so we recommend seeing a different waterfall each time you visit! Here’s a list of our top 8 absolute favorite North Georgia waterfalls:

Long Creek Falls

We’ll start off with one of Blue Ridge’s most famous falls, Long Creek Falls. Not only is it close to the heart of downtown Blue Ridge but it’s also easy to access. You can find the falls at the intersection of the Appalachian Trail and Benton McKaye Trail (two of Blue Ridge’s biggest & most popular trails). The hike to Long Creek Falls is only 2 miles there and back. You’ll follow alongside Noontootla Creek where you’ll see smaller falls as you go. Once you arrive at Long Creek Falls you’ll be in awe of the beautiful 50-foot double-tiered waterfall before you. Sit on one of the boulders on the edge of the falls and take in the sights!

Fall Branch Falls

Another waterfall close by is Fall Branch Falls, which is only 20 minutes from Blue Ridge. The hike to the falls is a bit more challenging because of the slippery rocks but it’s only a quick half-mile loop. You’ll see water cascade down 30 feet into the deep pool at the bottom. Take some photos from the observation deck or have a picnic at the base of the falls. There is lots to take in when you arrive, plus the trek to Fall Branch Falls is a great one to bring your four-legged friends along for!

Turtletown Falls

Venture across state lines to Turtletown Falls in Tennessee. Along the 3.8 mile loop you’ll pass by Turtletown Creek, the Hiawassee River, and the upper and lower parts of Turtletown Falls. Turtletown Falls splits into two and lands in a pool at the bottom. Relax and listen to the peaceful rushing of the water over the rocks as you admire the view. These beautiful falls are just under 20 miles from Blue Ridge.

Jacks River Falls

Jacks River Falls in Epworth, GA is one of the most visited sights in the Cohutta Wilderness Area and for good reason! While the journey to the falls is a challenge, the views at the end will make it all worth it. The Jacks River trail stretches for over 16 miles through lush wilderness and past rushing rivers. Jacks River Falls is a beautiful but roaring and rocky waterfall, mimicking that of the rough terrain you’ll pass along the way.  Hiking experience is highly recommended to get to these falls.

Amicalola Falls

Amicalola Falls is the tallest waterfall in Georgia, standing at 729 feet! Located in Dawsonville, GA, just over 30 minutes outside of Blue Ridge, these falls are one of the more popular ones to visit because of their extreme height. There are 3 ways to reach the falls each varying in difficulty, the first is a simple drive to the top of the falls, the next is the steep but short hike to the top on the 2.1 mile loop, or you could take the 7.5-mile hike along the Appalachian Trail. Luckily, no matter your hiking experience level you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of these stunning and massive falls!

Raven Cliff Falls

Raven Cliff Falls trail will take you past trout-filled streams, beautiful greenery, and end with a stunning, cascading waterfall. Raven Cliff Falls is located in Helen, GA, and is situated on a 5.8 mile out and back trail. Along the way, you’ll pass by many cliffside waterfalls until you arrive at the moss-covered cliffside where the waters of Raven Cliff Falls tumble down. Raven Cliff Falls trail is one of the most beautiful and popular hiking trails in all of Georgia and only about an hour from Blue Ridge!

Sea Creek Falls

About an hour outside of Blue Ridge in Suches, GA is the double waterfall Sea Creek Falls. The falls can be accessed after just an easy 0.1-mile walk. When you arrive you’ll notice that Sea Creek Falls splits into two sections and drops down 30 feet into a shallow pool at the base of the falls. We recommend visiting in late winter/early spring when the water levels are high or after a heavy summer rain because that’s when the falls are the most extraordinary to behold.

Helton Creek Falls

Not far from Blue Ridge in Union County, GA is Helton Creek Falls. Helton Creek Falls is made up of a pair of two large falls, the smaller Lower Helton Creek Falls which you’ll arrive at first, and the larger Upper Helton Creek Falls where the water rushes down a 50-foot cliffside. You can easily access this pair of falls by taking a brief .3 mile hike. Admire the beauty of the falls from the observation deck and remember to snap a few photos!

The trails on these hikes are easy for them to navigate and not too long that they would be overworked. One of our favorite easy hikes for pups is the trail to Long Branch Falls. Not only will your pup love accompanying you on your adventure but they’ll also love cooling off in the falls after the hike. Some other local dog-friendly trails with waterfalls include Raven Cliff Falls Trail and Jack River Falls Trail; both are great for dogs with high energy because they are a little longer. And if you and your dog are feeling brave enough a hike along the Benton MacKaye Trail to the famous Swinging Bridge is always a treat! Need a few more suggestions?
